Nora Toxin scored the first-ever points for AZRD’s newest team, the Gaudylupes, despite her team’s 69-39 loss to the Bruisers in the second challenge bout of the night.
The Bruisers took the early lead from the first jam and never looked back, led by a big 40-point effort from jammer Ms. D’Meana and a single 20-point power jam by Blok ‘n’ DekHER.
DekHER’s power jam gave the Bruisers a 34-5 advantage by the fourth jam. But Colette Razorcat and the Gaudylupes battled back with a 19-point jam. All of Razorcat’s points were scored before Bruiser jammer Enya Dreamz went to the penalty box, as Bruisers Betty Breathtaker, Peta Hateworth and Hot Coco effectively shut down the power jam opportunity.
The Gaudylupe blocking team of veterans Nicole Bitchie and Chachi Patron helped create holes for new jammer Chokeya Latte, and Pardon My French laid a big hit on Bruiser blocker Peta Hateworth, but it wasn’t enough as Bruiser jammer Ms. D’Meana turned up the heat. In back-to-back jams she scored a total of 26 points to give the red team a decisive victory.
