Arizona Roller Derby is proud to work with several organizations within our community, and we love giving back. November 2016 — St. Vincent de Paul
As we near the holiday season, we are collecting monetary donations as well as, non-perishable food items to donate to St. Vincent de Paul.
October 2016 — Don’t be a Chump! Check for a Lump!
Arizona Roller Derby has chosen Don’t be a Chump! Check for a Lump! to partner with as our charity of the month.
Their mission is to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer by providing education on breast health awareness and prevention. Their “Wig Out” program provides free wigs to women undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer in Arizona.
September 2016 — One-N-Ten
For September we partnered with One-N-Ten, a nonprofit organization that serves LGBTQ youth.One-N-Ten provides social and service programs that promote self‐expression, self‐acceptance, leadership development and healthy life choices.
August 2016 — Boys & Girls of Metro Phoenix
We are excited to work with Boys & Girls of Metro Phoenix as our charity for this month and accepting monetary donations on their behalf.
April 2015 — Suicide Prevention Lifeline
We are donating 50% of our raffle sales to the Suicide Prevention Lifeline as a way to show our love and support of Casper (#57) who skated for the Darlings of Destruction Jr Roller Derby League.
August 2014 — Arizona Humane Society
Donations were gathered for the Arizona Humane Society from our skaters and fans attending the August 23rd bout. We collected items from the Shelter Wish List they provide on their website. We are proud to have gathered to donations for the animals in need!
July 2014 — Humanitarian Activist Alliance
AZRD partnered with the Humanitarian Activist Alliance to collect donations for Arizona Packs. Arizona Packs are backpacks stuffed with full of things that could make all the difference on these hot, Arizona summer days: water, hats, sunscreen, umbrellas, shoes, and anything else that would help keep people cool. These backpacks were given out to people within our local homeless community.
April 26 and May 24, 2014 — The Escalante Community Garden
The Escalante Community Garden produces organic fruits and vegetables, and fresh free range chicken eggs. They teach the community about sustainable gardening, healthy cooking, and strengthen community bond. Escalante Garden Project is a program managed by the Tempe Community Action Agency.
March 8, 2014 — Cave Creek Wash Clean-up
Some of our lovely skaters spent their Saturday morning helping the community in Cave Creek, cleaning up a wash.
January 20, 2014 — Martin Luther King Jr. Day Neighborhood Clean-up
AZRD joined Phoenix United, along with over 20 other local organizations, and helped to clean up a Phoenix neighborhood.
